Frederick Douglas's 4th of July Speech

Below is a great video by Tony Williams of the Bill of Rights Institute. When I first read Frederick Douglas's speech I was not initially impressed but after a second reading and discussion on the speech, I was thoroughly impressed with the speech. Above all the one thing this speech taught me is that it is important to dive into a document, learn about it's message and the point of view of the writer. This is an important speech that needs to be taught today in school.
