New Year and Celebrations for the United States!

As we enter 2026 let the celebrations for the United States of America begin. And with those celebrations let a revival of American History that is based on fact begin to permeate the country to counter those who would revise our history in such a way as to denigrate the country.

Each country has a history that includes the good, the bad and the ugly (to paraphrase the Clint Eastwood movie) but our country has more good than anything else because of what it represented to humanity - freedom from the chains of oppression resulting in the ability for people to shed their poverty and ignorance and move up the financial and social ladders to achieve whatever success they chose for themselves.

Along the way we had some dark periods in our history but that should never negate what our Founders attempted to establish not only for themselves but for future generations. An experiment in republican* values that enhanced the abilities of the people to rule themselves through representative government and not monarchical government or any other myriad of governments that control their people or redistribute their wealth.

So take some time to read original documents such as the Federalist Papers and the Notes on the Constitution (James Madison) but also delve into the Founder's personal letters as well as diaries and letters of others who lived throughout American history. Reading original works by those who lived during the formation and subsequent years of the country will enlighten you and reignite the spirit of America that is embedded in each of us. Take the time to read the various documents that led to the founding of this country including the Declaration of Independence. I promise you it will be well worth your time!
