Entrance to Lincoln University

In 1854, Lincoln University because the first black university to award Blacks college degrees. It was located in Pennsylvania.

In 1861, Maryland House of Delegates voted against seceding from the Union during the Civil War.

In 1862, New Orleans fell to the Union during the Civil War.

In 1945, the US Army liberated tens of thousands of inmates at the Nazi concentration camp in Dachau, Germany.
