If you want to learn more about John Adams and John Quincy Adams, one of the best places to visit is the Adams National Historical Park in Quincy, MA formerly known as Braintree. Here you will be able to tour the homes and grounds where both Presidents were born and resided. While I was unable to tour the inside of the homes while I was there, just walking the property and looking at what can be accomplished when you put your mind to it was awe inspiring. One of the most amazing things to look at was a rose bush that had been planted by Abigail Adams over 200 years ago and is still thriving to this day.
Visiting this location is just the start to learning the great contributions of the Adams family to this country. There are many books such as David McCullough's John Adams that can be accessed as well as the archives at the Massachusetts Historical Society. In tomorrow's blog post we will dive into the life of John Adams and then his son John Quincy Adams. But until then here is a fun fact - the Adams were the first father/son to serve as President of the United States.
